What happens if it rains during the trek?
The tours operate rain. The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is an ecosystem of cloud forest and sub-páramo, so the rain is part of the natural experience. The important thing is to come prepared: waterproof, a change of clothing in a sealed bag and waterproof trekking boots. Our guides know the routes in any climatic condition, and always prioritize the safety of the group. We cancel only in extraordinary situations of actual risk.
How can I make the trek if I am traveling alone?
Yes, no problem. Many of our guests come alone to Santa Marta and join open groups with people from different parts of the world. It is in fact one of the best ways to meet people with similar interests. The groups are small by design, because in the peasant houses of the Sierra Nevada does not fit in massive groups, so that the experience remains intimate, even if you come alone.
