DAY 1: the Beginning of the Adventure
- 08:00 AM | Pick up at your place of accommodation in Santa Marta.
- 09:00 AM | Brief stop at the office Bonda to save the extra baggage and enjoy a coffee before you start the trek.
- 09:15 AM | Journey of 25 minutes by car to the start point of the walk.
- 09:40 AM | Walk 1 hour (3 km) through the forest until you reach the Stone Donama.
- 11:00 AM | River Mullet: A space to swim, relax and enjoy the experience of jumping in the crystal clear waters of the mountain.
- 12:00 PM | Traditional lunch served in Home Domek.
- 02:00 PM | 3 hour walk (6 km) to La Playita, farm, local self-sustaining in the mountains.
- 05:00 PM | Rest time.
- 06:30 PM | Dinner prepared by the host family. Overnight in the beds.
DAY 2: To the Lost City of Bunkuany
- 08:00 AM | Traditional breakfast with local products from the farm.
- 08:30 AM | Morning walk to Bunkuany (3.5 hours / 8 km): The route enters the Sierra Nevada to the archaeological site of Bunkuany.
- 11:30 AM | Guided tour focused on the history of the ruins and their cultural significance.
- 12:30 PM | Lunch in the Restaurant Bunkuany.
- 02:00 PM | Walk 2.5 hours (2 km) to Calabazo through the forest; an ideal opportunity to spot monkeys, birds, rivers and jungle landscapes impressive.
- 04:30 PM | Arrival to Calabazo to enjoy a cold drink and a rest of 10 minutes.
- 04:45 PM | 1.5 hour walk (3 km) to the People Kogui (our second camp). Dinner and a bonfire.
DAY 3: Cultural Immersion and Return
- 07:45 AM | 500 meters walk to a vantage point near you to appreciate the spectacular views of the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada.
- 08:15 AM | Traditional breakfast.
- 09:00 AM | Cultural Tour led by an indigenous guide, offering a deep understanding of the traditions of the Kogui, its spirituality, and daily life and worldview.
- 12:30 PM | Lunch and descent: walk 3 miles back to Calabazo.
- 02:00 PM | Transport back to Santa Marta.
